Join us for a free HOT community class at our William St location!
This is a basic yoga class that is perfect for all levels of students.
A 75 minute class intended to benefit mamas-to-be inside and out. Beginning with a time of community sharing and discussion, we get to know one another and build our collective knowledge about pregnancy, labor and delivery, and after birth care. The class focuses on strength building and stretching poses especially designed for expectant mothers, as well as discomfort practices intended to challenge us all to manage our emotions and thoughts during challenging moments of our lives (labor!). Class ends with a restorative savasana. Appropriate for all stages of pregnancy and fitness levels.
**Due to the subject matter covered in this class concerning all stages of pregnancy, this class is for expectant mothers only.
Join Nikita for this all encompassing practice!
Come prepared to move through the full range:
Sit. Breathe. Sweat. Melt. Simmer. Steep. Still.
We are gifted an opportunity to merge our heart and brain.
This navigation of our body-mind clairvoyance in the present moment has a profoundly transformative way of connecting us to our higher purpose. As we tangibly embrace our breath, posture, and even sometimes our voice, the flow of prana (lifeforce) may freely move through us to bring about a union of that higher purpose and the actions we take.
Occasionally we are resistant to the "hug" or closeness of really seeing ourselves where we are.
The invocation is one of ALL - accepting of whatever arises in the practice, physically or mentally, so that the self study is truly one of non-bias and unconditional love for SELF.

Yoga for Warriors is our signature community class. Dragonfly has offered this class since the year the studio opened in 2013. The class is a partnership with the local Fredericksburg chapter of Team Red White and Blue which is a national non-profit that aims to increase the wellness of veterans through physical and social activities. Civilians are a critical part of the mission as Team RWB believes civilians can help veterans better integrate into their local communities. The class is designed with service members in mind and is open to active duty, veterans, retirees, their family members and civilians in the spirit of supporting the integration of military families into our community. Yoga for Warriors includes a wide range of breathing techniques, meditation and mindfulness and physical postures (asana). It is appropriate for students of all levels to include beginners. We keep the safety of our knees and backs in mind especially in this class as so many veterans report knee and back trouble. The fundamental belief behind this class is that through movement and awareness students can release stress and trauma at the source.
This class is unique in that we open each week with a community circle. In the brief community circle you'll be given an opportunity to share your name, any branch of service you're connected to and participate in the ice-breaker question if you choose. This brief opening circle helps us get to better know our fellow students and veterans and provides valuable opportunities for connection and building our social support.
There will be an occasional opportunity to practice yoga nidra (sometimes described as yoga "sleep"). We practice yoga nidra with a long, guided and scripted meditation that is designed to relax, rejuvenate and improve sleep.
Whether you are a veteran of recent service or years ago, a family member or civilian wanting to make our community a welcoming place for our local service members we hope you'll join us.

Agni Flow
Align. Ignite. Awaken.
Agni is a Sanskrit word that means “fire.” Agni, the god of fire, sacrifice and divine knowledge, represents the spark of life and energy within all people. As that spark, Agni is present in all living things.
Agni Flow is a yogic centered experience. In this class we will use music, repetition and body weight movement to create heat within. We will allow intensity to build and use the heat and fire to transform feelings of resistance, doubt and anxiety into confidence, trust and
empowerment.
We will use our Yoga flows and breath work throughout class to intentionally calm ourselves after moments of deep catharsis in order to anchor our minds to our bodies. In this class, we move together in a way that allows support, encouragement and unity.
In class you can expect a traditional integration warm up to include meditation, pranayama and simple yogic movement patterns. From there, I will use music to move class into the larger muscle groups of the upper body, lower body and core, incorporate cardio flushes, accessory work, yoga flows and stretching. Class will commence with meditation and savasana.
Agni Flow can be modified to any approach. As with any yoga class, the idea is to be mindful and to meet yourself where you are without judgement. This is not a HIIT yoga class. This class does not require any equipment but you are welcome to wear your own wrist or ankle weights
for added resistance.
